History

Simek is a modern and well-equipted yard on the southern coast of Norway.  We have around 150 workers, but on the busiest times, there has been 250 workers.

Simek has build and delivered 124 ships in our 44 years history, and we have three more in order, until November 2013.

When we build a ship, make the drafts here in Norway, and sending them down to our co-operating yard in Gdansk, Poland. Then, they will build the blocks and send them up to Simek. We will then assemble them in our 96m x 20m heated construction hall. The construction hall has a crane capacity of approx. 340 tonnes.

Simek AS presently has about 165 employees. Major emphasis is placed on training and certifying our staff. Simek AS makes extensive use of apprentice ship programmes, enabling young people to become skilled workers in their field.
